Abstract
A hydrualic power unit for an auto-hoist lift having a more compact motor and improved noise characteristics. The power unit having a reservoir with a closed end and an open end. A manifold attached to the open end and having an inlet port and an outlet port with a hydrualic circuit located between the ports. The hydrualic circuit having a delay valve for reducing the start-up torque load on the motor, thereby allowing the motor to be sized for normal operating requirements rather than oversized for start-up requirements. The power unit may further include a motor and pump located inside a hydrualic fluid reservoir to thereby reduce the amount of noise reaching the immediate vicinity of the power unit. The motor and pump are submerged in the hydrualic fluid to advantageously utilize the hydrualic fluid to cool the motor.
