An information recording medium having a high light-resistance has a recording layer containing an organic dye and a quaternary ammonium salt having the following formula (I): M.sup.n+.n/m X.sup.m- (I) in which M.sup.n+ represents a quaternary ammonium ion, X.sup.m- represents an anion, n represents an integer of 2 or more, and m represents an integer of 1 or more.
