Abstract
A steam-heated roll having a longitudinal axis and a roll center, comprising substantially axially extending heating passages for heat supply arid removal, and discharge passages for condensate dewatering extending substantially radially from the heating passages to the roll center. The discharge passages include at least one cross-sectional constriction for effecting a turbulent mixing of condensate mixed with the steam during passage through the discharge passages.
