Abstract
A heated container for transport of prepared hot food has a combination of an electric heating element with an insulation layer comprising metal foil layers and fiber layers. The combination of metal foil layers, which spread the heat from the heating element, and the fiber insulation layers provides an efficient food transport container having sufficiently low power requirements to enable powering the heater element from an automotive 12 volt system while maintaining a food temperature inside the container at about 150.degree. F.
