The antenna (114) is inserted into the mounting base (108) via the through-hole (112), and the mounting base snap fits into the radio housing (102) via the snap beam (116). The snap beam (116) operates as both a snap-fit feature for retaining the antenna mounting base within the housing ((102) and as a release mechanism for removing the antenna mounting base from the housing.
