A resin composition comprising a saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (A) and a metal soap (B) of the general formula (1) obtained by an acid with a group 2 metal oxide or hydroxide. .alpha.MO.M(OOCR).sub.2 (1) wherein .alpha. represents a numerical value of 0.1.about.1.0; M represents a bivalent metal belonging to Group 2 of Periodic Table of the Elements; R represents a saturated or unsaturated alkyl group containing 11.about.29 carbon atoms.
