Guiding or angiography catheters, having a catheter shaft formed of a multi-layer wire reinforced wall construction consisting of one layer of wire wrapped in a substantially circumferential manner and another layer of wire laid at an angle of about .+-.20.degree. to about .+-.75.degree. with respect to the longitudinal axis of the tubular shaft.
