Abstract
A system for manipulation and display of medical images, comprises an interpretation unit comprising a computer system with an image display unit(s) providing a main viewer and at least one auxiliary clipboard viewer; and a handheld controller. The controller has finger operated dictation and display controls to operate display a series of images in the main viewer. Dictation may be entered in a microphone contained in the controller and digitally recorded in the computer system. A handheld controller for selecting an image displayed in the main viewer and displaying the image in the clipboard viewer are provided to permit assembly of summary studies of medical images, display of side by side comparisons of different series of images. The stored dictation may be synchronized with the images displayed at the time of dictation to provide for a multimedia playback of the dictation and images.
