Abstract
The invention relates to sintered particles for use in wear applications and to a process for producing the sintered particles. The particles are of substantially spheroidal shape, have a grain size of 20 to 180 .mu.m and have a predominantly closed porosity or are free of pores. The process for producing such particles starts from a powder material with a partially porous internal structure, which is introduced into a furnace and sintered at a temperature at which the material of the metallic binder adopts a pasty state while applying pressure to reduce the pore content of the starting material.
