In a wheeled cycle, including a bicycle, having an opposing pair of cranks with pedals for engagement by the feet of a rider for manual propulsion, a tool-free pedal-to-crank mounting assembly and method is provided for mounting the pedal to the crank with an insertion motion requiring no tools.
