Abstract
A permanent magnet is provided which retains its magnetic properties and exhibits a linear extrinsic demagnetization curve at elevated temperatures up to 700.degree. C. The magnet is represented by the general formula RE(Co.sub.W Fe.sub.V Cu.sub.X T.sub.Y).sub.Z, where RE is a rare earth metal selected from the group consisting of Sm, Gd, Pr, Nd, Dy, Ce, Ho, Er, La, Y, Tb, and mixtures thereof and T represents a transition metal(s) selected from the group consisting of Zr, Hf, Ti, Mn, Cr, Nb, Mo, W, V, Ni, Ta, and mixtures thereof.
