Abstract
Flame retardants for resins, which contain as the principal component phosphorinane-type phosphates represented by general formula (I) (wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are each independently C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl; and R.sub.3 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.20 alkyl), and which can impart excellent flame retardance to resins without lowering in the physical properties inherent in the resins and are excellent in resistance to hydrolysis and free from halogen; and flame-retarded resin compositions excellent in mechanical characteristics. ##STR1##
