Abstract

The present invention relates to a novel compound 8-(C-.beta.-D-glucopyranosyl)-7,3',4'-trihydroxyflavone, isolated from Pterocarpus marsupium useful in the treatment of diabetes. The present invention also relates to a method for the preparation of the compound and to the uses thereof.
