Abstract
A filter assembly through which a fluid can flow and a method for the production thereof are provided. The filter assembly includes at least one covering layer made of an at least partially porous material with at least one boundary region and includes at least one fiber layer made of a fiber fabric. The at least one covering layer forms a sleeve that encloses the fiber layer so that the fiber layer is permanently disposed inside the at least one covering layer. The filter assembly makes it possible to produce a filter body that can be used, in particular, for cleaning exhaust gases of mobile internal combustion engines.
