Abstract
A new use in magnetic resonance imaging employing a field greater than 1.5 Tesla, of a porphyrin compound of the following general formula I is provided: ##STR00001## in which R.sub.0 and R'.sub.0 are such that the compound is soluble in a biological medium, and M denotes a paramagnetic metal ion, advantageously Mn.sup.3+. The present invention also relates to novel porphyrin compounds.
