Abstract
A saw includes a base and a pair of substantially parallel stationary rails coupled to the base and extending in a longitudinal direction. A saw supporting assembly is coupled to the base and includes an arm extending from the base and a cutting blade coupled to the arm. A table for supporting a workpiece has a pair of substantially parallel sliding rails fixedly coupled to the table. The sliding rails slide relative to the stationary rails so that the table is moveable between a cantilevered position where at least a portion of the sliding rails are not in contact with the stationary rails, and a non-cantilevered position where substantially the entire length of the sliding rails are in contact with the stationary rails.
