Abstract

A secure module holder is (SH) capable of preventing an unauthorized reading of information on a secure module (SM). The SH holds one or more SM. The SH controls non-contact communication with a reader/writer RW of the SM and includes non-contact communication section, contact communication section with the SM, access controller performing authentication processing with the RW, and a control unit. The control unit performs a process for invalidating the non-contact communication means section of the SM inserted, a process for causing the access controller to perform an authentication process with the RW according to a card application selection request of the RW, and a process of permitting the RW to access the card application of the SM if the authentication is successful. The number of SM held by the SH and the card application stored in them cannot be known by the RW which has not completed the authentication process.
