Abstract
Power line stringing system and method Abstract A method for installing power line cables on transmission towers is provided. A primary line (20) spooled at a first end on a primary winch (10) is provided and is attached at a second end to an Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) (30). The primary winch (10) and UAS (30) are operated to pay out the primary line (20) and deliver the second end of the primary line (20) sequentially to a plurality of transmission towers (70, 72, 74) and to thread or otherwise attach the primary line (20) onto the supports (71, 73, 75) of each transmission tower (70, 72, 74). The second end of the primary line (20) is connected to a power line cable (50) and the primary winch (10) is operated to wind in the primary line (20), thereby drawing the power line cable (50) in place of the primary line (20).
