Abstract

The electrolysis is effected in diaphragm cell includingpairs of anodes and cathodes arranged in series, the cathodesbeing supplied with holes and are covered by porouscorrosion-resistant diaphragm, and part of the anodes are suppliedwith hydrodynamic devices for producing circulation of the anodesaline solution. The cell has ingoing holes for the fresh salinesolution and outgoing holes for discharging the chlorine, hydrogenand sodium base produced. The device controls the oxygen contentin the chlorine and the chlorate concentration in the sodium baseregardless of the saline solution which is introduced in the celland its concentration by the addition of aqueous solution ofhydrochloric acid to the saline solution in the anode space acrossa filling device fitted above the hydrodynamic devices.
