Abstract

A linearising circuit having a frequency mixer (2) which mixes in a specific ratio a first frequency, which varies with a parameter, and a second frequency, which is independent of parameter and comes from a reference oscillator (10) and having an evaluation circuit (4) which supplies an output pulse corresponding to the mean duration of the mixer output signal, with the result that the output signal for the parameter is linearised. The linearising circuit can be accommodated in a timepiece as a means for detecting the ambient temperature thereof. By generating temperature information in this way, it is possible to compensate the clock signal in accordance with the deviation of the actual temperature from a reference temperature.
