The invention provides a synthetic method of 2, 7-dimethyl-2, 4, 6-octatriene-1, 8-dialdehyde, which comprises the following steps: acetaldehyde diethyl acetal and ethyl (1-propenyl) ether are added under the action of a catalyst to obtain 1, 1, 3-triethoxy-2-methyl-butane; (2)1, 1, 3-triethoxy-2-methyl-butane is cracked and synthesized under the catalytic action of isoquinoline and p-toluenesulfonic acid to obtain 1-methoxy-2-methyl-1, 3-butadiene; (3) dissolving 1-methoxy-2-methyl-1, 3-butadiene in an absolute ethyl alcohol solvent, and synthesizing with a phase transfer catalyst of hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide and a chlorination reagent of trichloroisocyanuric acid to generate 4, 4-diethoxy-3-methyl-1-chlorobutene; (4) salifying and synthesizing 4, 4-diethoxy-3-methyl-1-chlorobutene and triphenylphosphine to obtain a phosphonium salt; and (5) condensing the phosphine salt with a sodium carbonate solution under the action of hydrogen peroxide to generate 1, 1,8, 8-tetramethyl-2, 7-dimethyl-2, 4, 6-octatriene; and hydrolyzing under acidic condition to synthesize 2, 7-dimethyl-2, 4, 6-octatriene-1, 8-dialdehyde. The method has the advantages of simple and direct process route, simple operation, mild conditions, good yield and great industrial value.
