Abstract
In the present invention, there is disclosed a method for restarting a spinning operation in work stations (2) of an open-end spinning machine after replacement of a yarn cheese with an empty cheese-winding tube (10), wherein the spinning machine comprises multiple work stations (2), each work station (2) having a spinning device (20) for producing a yarn and a winding device (4) with a creel (9) for winding the yarn into a cheese, and an automatically operating service unit (16) comprising an auxiliary yarn (24) supply device (21) for attending the plural work stations (2), the method comprising, at a work station (2) requiring restarting of the spinning operation, transferring a starting portion of an auxiliary yarn (24) from the auxiliary yarn (24) supply device (21) of the service unit (16) to a suction nozzle (14) of the work station (2), transferring the auxiliary yarn (24) via the suction nozzle (14) to a spinning start member of the work station (2), moving the suction nozzle (14) again to the auxiliary yarn (24), re-grasping via the suction nozzle (14) the auxiliary yarn (24) extending between the auxiliary yarn (24) supply device (21) and the spinning start member, removing via the suction nozzle (14) the auxiliary yarn (24) after the auxiliary yarn (24) has been used in the spinning device (20) of the work station (2) for restarting the spinning operation, and moving the yarn (7) produced in the spinning device (20) to the creel (9) of the work station to resume winding thereof.
