Abstract
Uneven number of floating rollers with parallel movement are between final roller of the mangle roller pair and the wound fabric batch with surface contact against each. The surfaces of the suspended floating rollers exceed the length of the fabric web so material follows a serpentine path between the rollers from the mangle to the wound batch. Pref. floating rollers has a torque drive to compensate for the draw forces exerted on the fabric at the floating rollers. The floating rollers are suspended parallel to each other from floating arms which are mounted to the machine frame. Three or five floating rollers are fitted to the assembly. Knitted piecegoods are held continuously flat from the final roller of the mangle over the surfaces of the floating rollers to the transfer point at the surface of the wound fabric bath. At the transfer point to the wound bath, the tendency of the fabric edges to roll inwards is directed radially inwards w.r.t. wound batch.
