Abstract
Here a method is provided that allows the recovery of metal values from laterites by the action of sulfuric acid quite diluted in laterites carrying nickel and cobalt, at atmospheric pressure and near ambient temperature, assisted by ultrasonic treatment. With a concentration of acid in the range for example between about 25 and about 50% sulfuric acid, under atmospheric pressure, sonication, extracting the metallic values from suspended laterites is thus achieved at room temperature.
