Abstract
The method involves melting two consumable electrodes (12) in a water-cooled mould (10). The electrodes have a diameter larger than size of an annular gap (15) formed between a portion of mould and a mandrel (17). A T-shaped flaring (11) is formed in an area of consumable electrodes. An inner diameter of cast ingot (18) is formed by water-cooled mandrel that is introduced into mould. The diameter of mandrel is downwardly tapered in an area of a metal liquid level (27) of a liquid heel (14). The liquid level of metal is adjusted below a level of flaring. An independent claim is included for production system of hollow cast ingots.
