Abstract
There is provided a green oxide phosphor for emitting a visible ray, having a general composition formula of Mg.sub.1-(x+y)Al.sub.2O.sub.4:Eu.sub.x.sup.2+, M.sub.y.sup.2+. In the green oxide phosphor, Eu.sup.+2 is doped into a crystal of Mg.sub.1-(x+y)Al.sub.2O.sub.4 as an activator; and Mn.sup.+2 is added as a co-dopant.
