Abstract

An electromagnetic double-valve can synchronously regulate or control the ow of two materials without the need of a costly mechanical linkage between the two individual valves which may be arranged in a common housing. An armature serves as the valve body or plug in each valve and is held in one valve position by permanent magnets and is switched to the other valve position by a synchronously controlled electromagnetic coil or coils which are connected in series. When one armature is lifted quicker than the other by the electromagnet or magnets, then the total magnetic flux decreases, whereby the second armature is also lifted. The synchronization of the switching operation is enforced by the common, spacially closed magnetic flux through both armatures and by the common effect on both armatures by the electromagnetic coil or coils.
