A hair dyeing composition achieving intensive, stable colorations, which can be varied by the addition of further coupling substances, contains an oxidation dyestuff system reacting with peroxide comprising a combination of a) 2-(2,5-diaminophenyl)ethanol of the water-soluble salts thereof, and b) 2,6-dichloro-4-aminophenol.
