Abstract

Aminobenzoic acid derivatives represented by Formula (1) as follows: ##STR1## (wherein, R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, or the like; R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom, a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, or the like; R.sup.3 represents a C.sub.8-25 alkyl group, or the like; R.sup.4 represents a hydrogen atom or a group represented by OR.sup.9 or CO.sub.2 R.sup.10 (wherein R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 represent a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group); A represents a group represented by S(O).sub.q R.sup.15 (wherein q is 0, 1, or 2, R.sup.15 represents a C.sub.1-6 alkyl group, a phenyl C.sub.1-3 alkyl group, or a group represented by (CH.sub.2).sub.m OR.sup.16 (wherein m is 2 or 3, and R.sup.16 represents a hydrogen atom or a methoxymethyl group), or the like; X represents O, a single bond, CH.dbd.CH, or a group represented by NR.sup.27 (wherein R.sup.27 represents a hydrogen atom or a t-butoxycarbonyl group); Y represents O, CONH, NHCO, or a group represented by NR.sup.28 (wherein R.sup.28 represents a hydrogen atom or a t-butoxycarbonyl group); and n is an integer of 0 to 15) or pharmaceutically acceptable salts of the same are employed as VEGF receptor antagonists, and in particular as therapeutic agents for the diseases in which VEGF is involved.
