Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a member with a step by which productivity can be enhanced and a cost can be reduced.SOLUTION: A manufacturing apparatus 10 comprising a shaft thickening processor 11 and a cutter 12. The shaft thickening processor 11 applies an alternation load in a direction crossing an axial direction onto an intermediate part Wa of a shaft material W in the state a pressure for compressing the shaft material W in the axial direction is applied to both ends of the shaft material W, and thickens the intermediate part Wa of the shaft material W while compressing the shaft material W in the axial direction. The cutter 12 cuts the thickened intermediate part Wa of the shaft material W in a direction orthogonal to the axial direction at a center at which the intermediate part Wa is equally divided in the axial direction, and splits the shaft material W into two members W1, W2 with a step which respectively have a shaft part Wb and a head part Wc.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
