Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un proceso mejorado para producir una emulsión de látex estabilizada, el proceso comprende las etapas de: a) hacer reaccionar monómeros que forman látex bajo condiciones de reacción predeterminadas de polimerización por emulsión, para formar un polímero hidrofílico de la primera etapa; y b) poner en contacto el polímero de la primera etapa con una cantidad efectiva de por lo menos un monómero hidrofóbico que forma látex bajo condiciones de reacción de polimerización por emulsión predeterminadas, para formar un polímero hidrofóbico de la segunda etapa, en el que el polímero de hidrofóbico de la segunda etapa se divide en el polímero hidrofílico de la primera etapa por lo que produce un polímero de emulsión de núcleo-capa invertido, en donde la mejora comprende la etapa adicional de ajustar el pH del políemro de la emulsión núcleo-capa invertido mediante una cantidad efectiva para disolver el polímero hidrofílico de la primera etapa, el polímero hidrofílico de la primera etapa es soluble y el polímero hidrofóbico de la segunda etapa es insoluble por el ajuste del pH, por lo que se produce un adhesivo de emulsión de látex estabilizado, que comprende una fase acuosa contínua que contiene el polímero hidrofílico de la primera etapa y una fase discontínua que contiene partículas discretas, estabilizadas del polímero hidrofóbico de la segunda etapa.
