A photographing apparatus includes a photographing unit that photographs an object; and a processor that is configured to acquire dimension information that corresponds to a type of a given crop to be photographed, from a storage unit that stores for each type of crop, dimension information that indicates a dimension to be used as a comparison reference for the crop; create based on a photographing condition at the time of photographing of the given crop by the photographing unit and the acquired dimension information, a graphic image representative of the dimension to be used as the comparison reference for the given crop, on a photographed image taken by the photographing unit; and output the photographed image taken by the photographing unit and the created graphic image in a correlated manner.
