Abstract
Vinylic polymer compositions having a weight average molecular weight in the range of about 4,000 to about 12,000 are produced by reacting, in an addition polymerization reaction, a fatty acid rosin mixture and a monomer mixture at a temperature in the range of about 135.degree. C. to about 175.degree. C. These compositions exhibit properties that make them useful as support resins for ink and overprint formulations and as additives for formulating various coating compositions.
