Abstract
A seatbelt retractor having a stopper (16). When a cam follower (16a) of the stopper (16) is at a circular arcuate pull-in section (22a) and a linear section (22b), the seatbelt (4) is pulled out by an amount exceeding a predetermined pull-out amount applicable to a normal belt wearing condition. Then, a stopper section (16b) of the stopper (16) is at an engagement-permitted position (B), enabling engagement between ratchet teeth (27) of a lock gear (26) and an engagement claw (24d) of the cam follower (16a). Further, when the cam follower (16a) is at a circular arcuate push-out section (22c) of a cam groove (22), the entire seat belt (4) is taken up. Then, the stopper section (16b) of the stopper (16) is located at an engagement prevention section (A), preventing engagement between the ratchet teeth (27) and the engagement claw (24d) to prevent end locking.
