The invention relates to a method for producing a rotor blade for a wind energy plant, which, in the operationally -ready state runs from a blade root region, for connecting to the rotor hub of the wind energy plant, to a blade tip and is divided into at least two pieces for production thereof. According to the invention, the production of the rotor blade, in particular serial production, may be facilitated and accelerated, wherein the rotor blade is segmented into more than two segments for production, at least for some of said segments, separate moulds for simultaneous separate use are provided and the segments for final production of the rotor blade are joined outside a production mould to give a rotor blade or rotor blade part.
