This engine-waste-heat utilization device contains a Rankine cycle (31) and cooling-water channels (13, 14) through which higher-temperature cooling water flows when the Rankine cycle is run than when the Rankine cycle is not run. The Rankine cycle is provided with the following: a heat exchanger (36), into which cooling water leaving the engine (2) flows, that recovers waste heat from the engine into a refrigerant; an expander (37) that generates power using the refrigerant leaving the heat exchanger; a condenser (38) that condenses the refrigerant leaving the expander; and a refrigerant pump (32) that supplies, to the heat exchanger, the refrigerant leaving the condenser.
