Abstract

This method for producing porous cellulose beads is characterized in that a cellulose slurry is made by adding b) water to a) a cellulose microdispersion produced by mixing a low-temperature alkali aqueous solution and cellulose, and the slurry is then brought into contact with d) a coagulation solvent. This carrier for ligand immobilization is obtained by shrinking polysaccharide porous beads 10% or more by a shrinkage rate determined by the formula, and crosslinking. Shrinkage rate (%) = (1-V2/V1)×100) (V1 is the bead volume before shrinkage, V2 is the bead volume after shrinkage)
