About Patent Buddy Top Prosecutors Selection Process



Who is eligible to be the Top Prosecutor?

Any individual that is a US registered patent Atty. Or U.S. registered patent agent, who has been registered for a minimum of five years, is eligible for consideration.



Who can nominate a Top Prosecutor?

Nominations may be made by any individual that has been a licensed U.S. patent attorney or agent for a minimum of five years. Nominations may also be made by regional blue ribbon panels.



How are Top Prosecutors selected from the nominees?

The number of nominations received by an individual is an important criteria in determining their selection. The room blue ribbon panels reviews all of the nominees in their region.



How many Top Prosecutors will be selected?

In 2011, 2% of U.S. registered patent attorneys were selected as Top Prosecutors. The actual number of individuals that will be named as Top Prosecutors will depend on the number of qualified applicants. In no event will more than 10% of U.S. registered patent attorneys be selected as top Prosecutors.



Can attorneys nominate other attorneys within their firm?

Yes, a registered us patent attorney can nominate other attorneys within his or her firm, however such nominations are provided less weight than other nominations.
