Job #14967: A stellar corporation has a high level opening. You will provide leadership, input, and support toward the development and realization of the IP Department’s vision and objectives; provide consulting and support to Division Patent Counsels, and will lead IP projects that require special legal expertise regarding M&A, special contracts, transactions, IP strategy development and implementation, inter parties proceedings, litigation/dispute resolution, etc.; and provide input needed to support the overall IP workload. You will be responsible for handling and managing special projects that relate to specific businesses, but are outside of the day-to-day IP workload of a particular DPC responsibility. This role may also include leadership responsibility for attorney/agent best practices training and professional development. Provide close support to division patent counsels/business leaders by overseeing major IP and non-IP (administrative) projects, including those resulting from surges in workload. Provide recommendations re: actively asserting the company’s intellectual property offensively against others, and responding to inbound claims against the company. Help to establish best practices in the areas of transactional, litigation, model contracts, etc., and circulate them throughout the IP Department, integrating them with clients and other staff group representatives as appropriate. Provide training sessions and seminars, conduct one-on-one mentoring, and help develop training materials. Participate in skill gap analysis, talent reviews, and attorney development planning. Provide regulatory, accounting and risk management support with respect to the corporate IP portfolio by periodically updating the IP due diligence and regulatory (IP) documentation for the company and keeping IP documents up-to-date. Develop talent within IP Leadership group to support global and strategic needs of the function. Transactional experience and strong communication skills needed. Years of Experience: 15+
