Position Summary:
As a member of our Litigation Team, you will manage a substantial portion of a high volume litigation docket, consisting of claims and general litigation matters. This individual will need to provide leadership for case management and direct the activities of the support staff. Bring new insight to appropriate practice groups and partner across the organization to share knowledge.

Organizational Structure:
This position reports to the Associate General Counsel, and works with an immediate support team of four. The primary interface for case management will be with the life insurance business line. Additionally, this individual will have routine touch points with other litigation attorneys.

Performance Objectives:
• Provide legal advice and guidance to the business and related partners
• Prepare and maintain accurate and complete reports and schedules for litigated matters
• Provide legal support and assistance as needed to track, analyze, and report on legislative and regulatory developments as well as industry trends that may impact business units
• Assist in the drafting and implementation of policies and procedures in response to new regulatory requirements

Requirments


The Ideal Candidate Should Have:
• JD and Demonstration of academic achievement
• Current admission to practice law in Texas
• A minimum of 5-7 yrs. experience in commercial litigation; Insurance coverage and bad faith experience preferred
• Understanding of how the navigate and problem-solve in an in-hours environment is a plus
• Flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing needs of the organization and/or business clients
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated ability to deliver creative and well-reasoned plans to resolve challenges and to execute on such plans
• Experience in and environment where coordination and teamwork were priorities while being committed to individual accountability and results
• Demonstrated results in motivating and leading the work of paralegal and administrative staff
