Description
Patent Counsel needed for wireless technology corporation in Silicon Valley / San Jose, CA.
The appropriate attorney should be able to apply their technical and legal skills while working with engineers and business units in a team environment. The goal of combining technical and legal capacities is to develop high quality, high value US and international patents.
The hired attorney will be required to understand technology in reference to domestic and international patent laws. Additionally this role will work with US and international counsel to evaluate the impact of prior art searches, product roadmaps and patentability.
Experience required:
Combination of law firm and corporate experience is desired
5 yrs min practicing attorney/counsel (patent specialty)
Registered to practice before the USPTO
Experience with preparing and prosecuting US and international patent applications is required
Technical undergrad/understanding in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or closely related)
Capacity to manage workload of overseeing a patent portfolio
Company product: Consumer electronics
Compensation: Competitive base, bonus and relocation where necessary
