The present invention provides a process for the production of Urea Ammonium Nitrate (UAN)And an apparatus. The process involves the use of a condensation section, optionally in combination with a medium pressure decomposition section, between the dissociation and neutralization sections. The present invention further provides a method of retrofitting an existing UAN device. The process of the invention has the advantage of reducing CO2Can improve plant capacity and reduce CO2The high capital expenditure required for compression equipment.
